Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Mammography Technologist for our South Florida facilities in a PRN capacity. The technologist will perform screening and diagnostic mammography using 2D/3D equipment, collecting patient history to provide radiologists with accurate clinical context.

Responsibilities include conducting exams, reviewing prior films, supporting RIS/PACS workflows, and contributing to quality control. State-approved mammography program, ARRT(M) certification, and CPR are required, with benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• Mammography Program approved by state; ARRT(M) credential required.
• State license as applicable; CPR certification; valid driver’s license if needed.
• MQSA compliance; strong customer service and organizational skills; basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms on patients.
• Obtains patient history, prior imaging and supporting information (RIS/PACS).
• Provides imaging support to other modalities when needed and participates in QC.
• Collaborates with radiologists and staff; manages letters/results where applicable.

We are currently hiring for a Mammography Technologist at our South Florida facilities. This will be a PRN position.

Our Mammographer performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams utilizing advanced 2D/3D equipment with thorough patient history/information collected, to provide interpreting Radiologist an accurate clinical history of patient signs and symptoms.

Specific duties include, but is not limited to:

• Performs mammogram exams on patients.
• Obtains patient history, prior films/reports, and any other supportive role information that is needed (RIS/PACS, burn discs).
• Performs Quality Control (QC) needed for FDA/ACR.
• Provides imaging support to other modalities in center (x-ray/ bone density, etc).
• Works with mammogram letters (results/reminders).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Certificate from College or Technical School
• Mammography Program (State approved)
• ARRT (M)
• State License, if applicable.
• CPR certification
• As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
• Must have met initial requirements under MQSA standards.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
