Job summary

Marathon Health is actively seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team in Washington. The MA will support a primary care physician, deliver patient care, and ensure a welcoming guest experience while handling clinical and front-desk duties.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience, completed MA training, and certification or registration. CPR/BLS is required at start date; phlebotomy experience is a plus in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program.
  • MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
  • Prepare and assist with procedures and coordinating tests or referrals as directed by the Provider.
  • Front desk duties: scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, referrals, and check-in/out.
  • Record data accurately in the medical record per documentation guidelines.

Work with the contracted labs for additional testsPrepares and administers approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous or intradermal at the direction of and upon written order from the ProviderPartners with other members of the care team to develop individual patient plan of care including identifying and working to address gaps in careFront desk duties, including: patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinate specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside of the clinic, check-in, check-out, etc.Records accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelinesProcess test results and provide the patient with timely results via e-message, mail or phone as directed in written instructions by the ProviderParticipates in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible patient groupsMaintains clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatmentsAbout YouMinimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care. May vary based on clinic needsGraduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related programNational or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred. MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.CPR/BLS certification required at time of start datePhlebotomy experience is preferred
