Job summary

Wellstone Emergency Services (WES) seeks an LPN to join the Pediatric Unit, supporting care for youths aged 12-18 in crisis. Responsibilities include vital signs, treatment planning, and discharge planning, with emphasis on timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

The role requires continuing licensure and the ability to work across locations. Two years of nursing experience preferred; Alabama license is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Alabama State License.
• At least two years' nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certification in SAMA & CPI (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and patient status; document in EMR.
• Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Provide basic living skills and patient education.
• Administer injections and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Conduct crisis intervention as needed in emergency situations.
• Interface with laboratories to obtain test results and update records.
• Maintain licensure and complete required training in Alabama.

Job Description: In our Pediatric Unit as part of Wellstone Emergency Services (WES), we provide care to individuals ages 12-18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The LPN works as part of a comprehensive treatment team of professionals focused on the stabilization and care of individuals on our unit. Those hired in this role will be required to report to at least four (4) shifts per month to maintain employment.
