Job summary

The Cancer & Hematology Centers are seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to staff infusion clinics and triage areas on an as-needed basis. You will assess and monitor patients, administer therapies, and coordinate the treatment plan with the care team.

Ideal candidates hold Michigan RN licensure, BLS, and an ONS chemo/biotherapy card, with at least 2 years of medical/surgical experience and oncology exposure. Flexibility for varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the State of Michigan.
• Competency-based orientation program completed.
• ONS Chemo & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of employment.
• BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years medical/surgical nursing experience; oncology preferred.
• Proficient peripheral IV access and central line management (PICC/port-a-caths).
• Able to navigate electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidenced-based nursing care in coordination with providers and cancer care standards.
• Offers research-based nursing care with physicians and research teams.
• Administers chemotherapy/immunotherapy per ONS, ASCO and OSHA guidelines.
• Assesses and monitors patient condition; develops individualized care plans.
• Educates patients and families; addresses symptoms, side effects, medications, and procedures.
• Initiates follow-up care in home/community; documents care per guidelines.
• Communicates clearly with health team ensuring continuity of care.
• Acts as advocate for patients and families; supports safe, efficient care.
