Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Department on a PRN Nights schedule. The role includes patient assessment, therapy orders, and documentation across adult and neonatal ICU settings.

Responsibilities include performing treatments within licensure, supporting education of students, and contributing to high-quality patient care in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience strongly preferred
• RCP and RRT required on hire
• BCLS required and maintained quarterly; ACLS preferred; NRP required if NICU work

Responsibilities

• Obtains/verifies physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness
• Reviews available medical records and obtains pertinent medical history from patient or family
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desired treatment
• Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license
• Documents verification of physician orders prior to delivery of care
• Documents aspects of each treatment session per departmental, JCAHO, Medicare, and other regulatory guidelines
• Utilizes available resources to maximize efficiency and meet departmental needs
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees
