Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a compassionate Family or Internal Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to support Coastal clinics within the Provider Float Pool. You will work with multiple care teams, have a flexible schedule, and not be assigned a patient panel.

Applicants must have a Master's Degree, be NCCPA/NP trained, and hold a current PA or NP license. At least one year of APP experience is required, with pediatric experience a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Travel across the Wilmington Novant Health region to support clinics.

Novant Health Provider Float Pool

The Novant Health Provider Float Pool is looking for a compassionate, patient-driven Family or Internal Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to support Coastal clinics. Our float pool providers are valued for creating access to care when clinics are impacted by planned and unexpected provider shortages. As a member of the team, you are not responsible for a patient panel, you work with a variety of experienced care teams, and you enjoy a flexible schedule that works for you, giving you the time you need for family and personal interests. Your patients will need an array of preventive care services as well as chronic disease management and follow ups to acute care visits.

At least one year working as an APP required, Family and Internal Medicine experience preferred with pediatric experience a plus.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required.

Experience: At least one year of experience working as an APP required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, BLS, DEA registry required.

Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
