Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center is seeking an Echocardiology Technician to join our team on a PRN, as-needed basis in Los Alamos, NM. The role performs echo procedures in accordance with scope and standards of practice and supports imaging quality control.

Applicants must hold a current NM cardiac sonographer license, an associate's degree, and BLS certification; a current echo registry is required. Training and opportunities for career growth are available within Lifepoint Health.

Qualifications

• Current NM cardiac sonographer license.
• Associate's degree required.
• BLS certification current upon hire.
• Current echo registry.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Prep equipment, select exposure factors and imaging parameters; ensure safety and quality control.
• Implements quality standards and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging; analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.
