Job summary

Benedictine is seeking a Transportation Driver to operate community vehicles for residents, transporting them safely and efficiently while following state laws and Benedictine policies. You will maintain trip logs, schedule maintenance, and assist passengers as needed.

The role requires a 21+ year-old applicant with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record accepted by Benedictine. You will also support the Benedictine Mission and participate in safety and preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s license for vehicle type.
• Driving record acceptable to Benedictine.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and drive community vehicles to transport residents/tenants safely and efficiently.
• Follow state laws, Benedictine policies, and safety guidelines at all times.
• Maintain trip scheduling records and mileage/maintenance logs.
• Establish and record regular preventive maintenance and pre-trip inspections.
• Assist with loading/unloading of passengers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Promote the Benedictine Mission and Core Values in day-to-day activities.

Job description

Coordinates and executes all transportation needs for residents/tenants as provided under community policy. Responsible for assuring community vehicles are routinely maintained and comply with State and Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Expected to maintain a safe driving record that meets Benedictine requirements at all times.

• Schedule and drive community vehicles to transport residents/tenants in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow all established state laws, Benedictine and community policies and procedures, and resident safety/safe patient handling guidelines at all times, including during emergencies and inclement weather.
• Maintain all necessary records including trip scheduling and logging mileage and maintenance.
• Establish, execute, and record regular preventive maintenance schedules, required repairs, pre-trip inspections of lights and tires, and annual profession mechanic inspection.
• Assist with loading and unloading of passengers and may be needed to assist in and out of destination.
• Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.
• Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.

Qualifications Required

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle assigned to operate
• Acceptable driving record that meets Benedictine requirements
