Ochsner Health in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Security Dispatcher to answer internal and external calls for Security Operations. You will dispatch security officers, document details, and respond to all codes and emergencies across the main campus and regional clinics.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1 year of related experience, and IAHS Certification within 90 days of hire. You will work closely with a compassionate, patient-focused team in a healthcare setting.

This job answers internal/external calls for Security Operations, which average 2-3,000 transactions daily. Answers routine and emergency calls for security assistance while obtaining all necessary information required while dispatching security officers to calls for service as well as making notifications to on duty supervisors. Responds to all emergency situations, all types of Hospital/Clinic codes at any given time, monitors Hospital/Clinic video screens, maintains security log and all associated computer entries; handles all call and on-call for security and emergency preparedness for main campus and regional clinics as well as notifications for security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.

Education

Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

Required - 1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher or related experience

Certifications

Required - International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire

• Consistently answers calls using standard company greeting.
