The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, one weekend per month, and strong commitment to patient outcomes through nutrition education. RD credentials and Texas licensure are required; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification or RD eligible.
• At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Licensed Dietitian status in Texas.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Passion for improving patient outcomes through high-quality nutrition care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition plans based on medical history and current health status.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices for nutrition care.
• Monitor patients' progress and modify nutrition plans as needed.

With 160 licensed beds, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Plano offers a broad range of services, including oncology, digestive disease, bariatric surgery, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology, neurology, neurosurgery and interventional radiology.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess patient's nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition plans based on their medical history, current health status, and specific needs
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle changes
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices for nutrition care
• Monitor patients' progress and make modifications to their nutrition plans as needed
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of clinical nutrition
