Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license to practice in Arizona with CRNA certification.
• Current NBCRNA certification.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Eligibility to obtain facility credentialing and clinical privileges.
• Strong assessment, airway management, emergency response, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document pre-anesthesia assessments (history, meds, allergies, airway, tests).
• Develop anesthesia plans based on patient needs, procedure, and privileges.
• Discuss plan, risks, and expectations with patients and obtain informed consent.
• Prepare and check anesthesia equipment, medications, monitoring devices, and emergency supplies.
• Administer anesthesia and sedation within privileges and protocols.
• Monitor patients and manage airway, ventilation, oxygenation, and cardiovascular status.
• Recognize and respond to anesthesia complications and emergencies.
• Coordinate safe transfer to recovery and provide handoff to PACU team.
• Assess recovery from anesthesia and address pain, nausea, and related concerns.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication records.
• Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives.
