Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a PRN/registry Behavioral Health Specialist for the Emergency Department and Medical Center in Illinois. The role includes crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, triage and disposition recommendations via in-person and telehealth as needed.

A Master’s degree in behavioral health with at least two years of relevant experience is required, with licensure at LSW/LPC level and LCPC or LCSW encouraged for advancement.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in behavioral health sciences or related field.
• Experience in mental health settings is required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, triage, resource development and disposition recommendations.
• Provides direct specialized care with patients needing higher-level psychological assessment or interventions.
• Develops discharge and safety plans in consultation with patient and health care team.
• Facilitates admission processes to inpatient psychiatric units and ensures pre-certification for level of care.
