Job summary

St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team.

The PRN COTA will provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and help patients regain independence and improve daily living activities. Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification in good standing.
• Current California COTA license in good standing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Skilled nursing, long‑term care, or rehabilitation experience preferred but not required.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapeutic activities designed to improve patients' strength, mobility, coordination, and independence with daily activities.
• Accurately and timely document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and communicate changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, safety strategies, and home exercise programs.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
