Bear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a cook to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and prepare meals for residents. You will follow prepared menus, manage portion control, and assist with serving meals while ensuring safety and quality in a long-term care environment.
The role requires keeping up with temperature logs, preparing special diets, and collaborating with dietary and nursing staff. A ServSafe certificate and hospital/long-term care cooking experience are preferred.
$15.00-17.00 An Hour General Purpose
Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner. Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities. Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
This job has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent. Should have experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
Ability to read technical procedures. Ability to read and follow recipes. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate. Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred. Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally.
