Job summary

Majestic Care of Lakin is seeking a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. You will assist residents with daily living activities and provide hands-on nursing support under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role emphasizes compassionate, respectful care, infection control, and ensuring comfort and dignity for residents in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification as required by state
• Ability to assist residents with ADLs and mobility
• Commitment to resident safety and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
• Respond to residents' call lights to provide comfort, safety, and privacy
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair within community
• Report significant findings to the nurse promptly
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge to ensure smooth transitions
• Safekeeping of residents' personal possessions and keep rooms tidy
• Follow infection control techniques and respect privacy and confidentiality
• Re-teach residents to perform ADL skills and provide restorative care
• Support residents' hydration and nutrition and monitor intake
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and follow up as needed

Position Overview:

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications:

• Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
