Job summary

Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath RN for a PRN role to cover high volume, call outs and vacations.

The RN will supervise patient care through the nursing process, assist Cardiologists in invasive cardiovascular procedures in Cath/EP Lab, and contribute to quality care and customer service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one-year critical care nursing experience.
• Proof of American Heart Association BLS certification, valid for at least 90 days after hire date.
• ACLS certification if required by unit, valid for at least 90 days after hire date.
• Current RN license in the State of Florida.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Collaborate with cardiology and other disciplines to ensure effective care delivery.
• Assist Cardiologists with invasive cardiovascular procedures in Cath Lab/EP Lab.
• Circulating, scrubbing, recording and 2nd circulating as needed.
• Support the organization vision and provide quality patient care with strong customer service.

Summary

Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers FL is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath RN. This is a PRN position covering high volume, call outs and vacations.

Responsible for the supervision of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nurses Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. Performs responsibilities in 5 areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership, and professional development. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Assists Cardiologists with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the Cath Lab/EP Lab. Independently performs functions related to circulating, scrubbing, recording, and 2nd circulating. Supports the organization vision and mission. Uses knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience: Minimum of one-year critical care nursing experience required.

Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. For units that require American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.

License: Current RN licensure in the State of Florida.

Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
