Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a PRN Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to support care at the Leatherman Behavioral Health Pavilion in Florence, SC. You will interview patients and families, assess social needs, and coordinate resources to maximize care.

Requirements include a CSWE-accredited BSW, SC licensure, and BLS; 8 scheduled hours per week. This role involves coordination across inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum one year of related experience preferred in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and community resources.
• Current South Carolina Social Work license and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and relatives to obtain social history relevant to medical problems and planning.
• Assists patients with environmental difficulties affecting care access.
• Serves as liaison between medical/nursing staff, patients, relatives and outside agencies.
• Interprets and resolves social issues related to medical conditions/hospitalization.
