Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is seeking a PRN Activity Therapist to design and implement therapeutic recreation programs that support patients' recovery. This role blends clinical expertise with creative engagement to help patients build coping skills and reach treatment goals through meaningful activities.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, conduct assessments, lead group sessions, document progress, and contribute to care plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC) certification.
• Knowledge of psychiatric care and mental illness
• Strong group facilitation skills
• Excellent documentation abilities
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and holidays

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Programming

• Plan and implement therapeutic recreation programs
• Conduct psychosocial and leisure skills assessments
• Teach coping skills and stress management techniques
• Facilitate group therapy sessions
• Provide individualized therapeutic interventions

Treatment Team Collaboration

• Participate as active member of interdisciplinary treatment team

Required Qualifications

Compensation & Schedule

Salary

• $16-18 per hour

Schedule

• PRN opportunities available!
• Weekday evening shiftavailable:Monday- Friday/ 3:00pm-7:00pm
• Weekend shifts available: Friday - Monday/ 8:00am-4:30pm
