Simon’s Class in New York City is seeking exceptional part-time tutors to join a growing team of educators delivering personalized tutoring, test prep, and college guidance. We work with students from elementary school through college, offering highly tailored instruction to improve academics, build confidence, and foster independence.

Tutors provide one-on-one support, teach concepts with clarity and enthusiasm, and help students prepare for SAT, ACT, ISEE, SHSAT, and SSAT where applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background from a highly regarded college or university.
• Deep knowledge of one or more academic subjects and/or standardized tests.
• Prior tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching, or other experience with students.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Patience, warmth, and ability to connect with students.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's needs, learning style, and goals.
• Teach and reinforce subject matter concepts with clarity, rigor, and enthusiasm.
• Prepare students for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SHSAT, and SSAT where applicable.
• Help students develop stronger problem-solving skills, study habits, and confidence.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and understand how to challenge and support each individual.
• Communicate professionally with families and with the Simon’s Class team.

Simon's Class is a leading NYC-based tutoring company specializing in academic tutoring, standardized test prep, and college prep. We work with students from elementary school through college, providing highly personalized instruction designed not only to improve academic performance, but also to build confidence, independence, and a genuine understanding of the material.

We are looking to add a small number of exceptional part-time tutors to our team across several areas:

• High School: SAT, ACT, AP courses, and high school-level math, science, English, history, and other academic subjects
• Middle School: ISEE, SHSAT, SSAT, and core academic subjects including math, English, science, and history
• Elementary School: Primarily grades 4–5, with a focus on math, reading/writing, and general academic support

We are especially interested in candidates who are academically accomplished, intellectually curious, and genuinely enjoy working with students.

What You'll Do

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong performance on the standardized tests they teach and/or substantial experience preparing students for those exams, where applicable.
