Role Description

This contracted, in-person Private Tutor role is centered in Los Angeles, CA- particularly from Studio City to Agoura. The Private Tutor will travel to the home of students (whose houses have been vetted and approved by company administration). The students will have materials ready to work with (e.g., teacher-assigned study guide, homework, review papers). If additional resources are needed, the company will provide them. Responsibilities include assessing student needs, preparing instructional materials, tracking progress, and communicating regularly with families or guardians about goals and outcomes. The tutor will offer support across core subjects, help students build effective study habits, and maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment aligned with the company’s personalized approach. The tutor will not necessarily have sessions every day or every week; the amount of work you have depends on demand and whether students need in-person tutoring or online. Online tutoring is mainly provided by college students; more in-person availability is open for high school juniors and seniors.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and deliver tailored instruction across multiple grade levels, with strong skills in core academic subjects (e.g., math, reading, writing, and study skills).
• Experience and mastery in multiple academic subjects, including particular subjects such as English, Math, or Science
• Clear, professional communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues, including providing constructive feedback and progress updates.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle scheduling, session preparation, and documentation in a flexible environment.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere for learners of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Ability to work in person at the previously mentioned sites and reliably commute to tutoring locations as required.
