Job summary

thecalendargroup is seeking an experienced, discreet Housekeeper for a 4,000-square-foot private residence on the Upper East Side. Two adults, two teens, and two friendly cats are in the home. The role covers daily cleaning, laundry, light ironing, occasional meal prep, and pet care.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with approximately 5 hours per day, and the family is flexible for a long-term fit. Compensation ranges from $45 to $50 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining a private residence with discretion.
• Ability to manage laundry, ironing, and basic meal prep.
• Comfortable around cats and pet care.
• Reliable, trustworthy and long-term commitment.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of a 4,000-square-foot home.
• Daily housekeeping: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchen.
• Manage laundry and wardrobe care.
• Light ironing; most dry cleaning and shirts are sent out.
• Polish and care for silver approximately four times per year.
• Order household cleaning supplies and assist with grocery orders.
• Prepare simple family meals approximately 1–2 times per week.
• Provide basic care for two friendly household cats.
• Maintain discretion, privacy, and professionalism within the household.
