AlignHR, LLC is seeking an Ophthalmic Registered Nurse to join a dynamic healthcare team in Charleston, WV. The role focuses on providing specialized nursing support in ophthalmology clinics, assisting with patient assessments, pre- and post-operative care, and ophthalmic procedures.

The successful candidate will manage IV procedures, participate in angiography, coordinate the surgical schedule, and support the clinical team with a range of ophthalmic treatments while upholding patient safety

Responsibilities

  • Administer IV procedures safely and accurately.
  • Inject Fluorescein dye and ICG IV for angiography.
  • Infuse Visudyne IV prior to laser treatment.
  • Maintain surgical schedule for surgeons.
  • Coordinate master surgery schedule for Charleston Hospitals.
  • Schedule ophthalmic surgery at Hospital and Surgery Center.
  • Explain procedures and risks to patients.
  • Obtain medical history and coordinate pre-operative exams.
  • Provide pre-operative teaching and obtain informed consent.
  • Schedule procedures/admissions with hospital departments.
  • Review lab results with physicians and communicate results to patients.
  • Offer telephone consultations and document in NexTech.
  • Coordinate specialty pharmacy shipments and resolve shipping issues.
  • Take call on a regular rotation as assigned.
  • Follow established routines and HIPAA policies.
  • Ensure patient privacy and professional conduct.

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and vision health. In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing support within ophthalmology clinics, assisting with patient assessments, pre- and post-operative care, and ophthalmic procedures. Responsibilities
  • Accountable for administration of IV procedures in a safe and accurate manner
  • Inject Fluorescein dye and ICG I.V. for angiography test.
  • Infuse Visudyne IV prior to photodynamic laser treatment.
  • Maintains surgical schedule for surgeons.
  • Coordinates the Master surgery schedule for Charleston Hospitals.
  • Responsible for scheduling ophthalmic surgery at Hospital and Surgery Center
  • Advises patient of procedure and risks involved with the procedure.
  • Obtain medical and surgical history to schedule pre-operative exam and surgical clearance with the patient’s primary care physician, specialist physician(s), and Preadmission Testing.
  • Perform pre-operative teaching
  • Review and obtain informed consent for applicable procedures.
  • Schedule procedures and admission with respective hospital departments.
  • Obtains lab results of testing ordered by our physicians. Review with physician and contact patient with results.
  • Provide consultation to patients over the telephone after speaking to physician and appropriately document in NexTech.
  • Coordinate specialty pharmacy shipments for patients’ appointments. Follow up on delayed shipments and resolve any shipping issues.
  • Responsible for taking call on a regular rotation as assigned.
  • Accepts direction from supervisors or physicians and adheres to established routines.
  • Functions within the legal limits of nursing practice.

  • Communicates to the patient in a manner that instills understanding and confidence about their upcoming procedure.
  • Understands and follows procedures for surgical and procedural consents.
  • Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals.
  • Takes pride and ownership in success and image of Practice.
