General

Radiant Oncology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible general radiation oncologist to join our growing practice in Tucson, Arizona. This is an opportunity to practice comprehensive radiation oncology with advanced technology, exceptional clinical support, a powerful multispecialty network, and a pathway to partnership within a successful physician-owned organization.

Radiant Oncology

Radiant Oncology is a division of the Center for Neurosciences, a large, independent, physician-owned multispecialty group serving Southern Arizona. Originating in the 1950s, the Center for Neurosciences is the longest-standing private medical practice in Tucson and has grown into a major regional specialty-care organization. The organization is fully physician-owned and run with the assistance with an exemplary C-suite and executive team.

Our physicians treat all adult malignancies and appropriate benign conditions. Routinely treated sites include CNS, breast, GU, GI, lung, head and neck, skin, lymphoma, sarcoma, oligometastatic and widely metastatic disease. We also perform high volume SRS and SBRT. The incoming physician must be comfortable practicing across the full spectrum of radiation oncology. There is no brachytherapy suite associated with the practice currently.

Advanced Technology and Outstanding Clinical Support

The Radiant Oncology division includes 15 staff, including two radiation oncologists, a highly experienced Radiation Oncology NP and RN team, skilled radiation therapists and long-term clinical staff, on-site medical physics, and excellent remote dosimetry support.

Our department operates two modern Varian treatment platforms:

  • Varian Halcyon (installed late 2025)

  • Varian TrueBeam STx with 6DOF couch

  • AlignRT surface-guided radiation therapy on both machines

  • RapidArc/VMAT

  • Eclipse planning software

  • Radformation / ClearCheck software

A Powerful Multispecialty Platform

The Center for Neurosciences includes 48 physicians and 18 nurse practitioners and physician assistants, providing Radiant Oncology with direct access to an extensive network of specialists in-house, diagnostics, and ancillary services, including:

  • Neurosurgery, including functional neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, skull base specialties with incoming spine specialist

  • Neuro-Oncology, including a dedicated neuro-oncology tumor board and Brain Tumor Coordinator

  • General Urology and Urologic Oncology

  • Adult and pediatric Otolaryngology with subspecalists in facial/plastic reconstruction, neck flaps, sinus

  • Neuro-Otology with multiple Audiology suites

  • Interventional Pain Management

  • Adult and Pediatric Neurology (memory care, vestibular neurology, neuromuscular medicine; EEG, EMG on site)

  • Neurogenetics, including a Genetic Counselor on site

  • Advanced imaging on site including PET/CT, MRI, CT, and X-ray

  • Infusion services

  • DME services

  • Clinical Research, with more than 20 active trials and opportunities for investigator-initiated and pharmaceutical-sponsored research, including trials for Urology and Neuro-Oncology currently

  • On-site laboratory services

This infrastructure supports rapid imaging, direct physician-to-physician communication, multidisciplinary treatment planning, and efficient coordination of care.

Positioned for Continued Growth

Center for Neurosciences is developing its third physician‑owned medical building, which will include an ambulatory surgery center. The organization continues to recruit additional sub‑specialists and invest in new facilities, technology, and clinical programs.

The incoming radiation oncologist will join an established organization during a period of significant growth, with the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Radiant Oncology and ultimately participate as a physician owner.

Position Structure

  • Start date is January 1, 2027.

  • A four‑day workweek is possible depending on physician coverage, call responsibilities, compensation structure, and other mutually agreed‑upon conditions.

  • Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, schedule, responsibilities, productivity structure, and partnership interest.
