Job summary

The Allegra School of Music & Arts in Hillsborough, NJ, is seeking a skilled Private Piano Teacher to join our faculty on a part-time basis. The position offers a flexible recurring schedule, enrollment and billing support, and the opportunity to take over existing teaching hours.

We provide an established roster, a renovated facility, and performance opportunities. Compensation is $30–$38 per teaching hour, with a 401(k) match for eligible employees. Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong piano technique and musicianship required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional and dependable approach to teaching.
• Ability to work with children, teens, and/or adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized private piano instruction.
• Develop technique, sight-reading, rhythm, and music-reading skills.
• Select repertoire based on each student’s level and goals.
• Adapt instruction for different ages and learning styles.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and exams.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school leadership.
• Maintain a reliable teaching schedule.
