Job summary

IvyCrest School of Arts at IvyCrest Montessori in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Private Music Instructor to provide individual music instruction to students ages 4–12. This position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) with both part-time and full-time options.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in piano and the ability to provide private piano instruction.
• Previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with children ages 4–12 preferred.
• Ability to teach guitar, violin, or additional instruments is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, positive, patient, and dependable.
• Must successfully complete all required background screening and Live Scan requirements.
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, any required business license for independent contractor work.

Responsibilities

• Provide private music instruction to students ages 4–12.
• Teach beginning through intermediate piano, depending on student needs and experience.
• Develop age-appropriate, engaging lessons for young musicians.
• Track student progress and help students establish achievable musical goals.
• Communicate professionally with the School of Arts Director regarding scheduling, enrollment, and student needs.
• Maintain a positive, patient, and encouraging teaching environment.
• Demonstrate reliability and professionalism in attendance and scheduling.
• Additional teaching opportunities may be available for instructors who can teach guitar, violin, or other instruments.
