Job summary

CFS in Boston (hybrid) is seeking a Private Equity Fund Accounting Associate to join a growing private investment firm. The role offers exposure to fund operations, capital activity, and financial reporting, with a clearly defined growth path within a high-performing finance team.

Ideal candidates come from Big 4 or large national CPA firms, have 1–3 years in public accounting, and possess strong Excel and analytical skills to manage investor reporting and accounting close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of public accounting experience or relevant accounting experience.
• CPA or CPA track preferred.
• Experience with investment management, private equity, hedge funds, or alternative investments is a plus.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily cash activity, wire transfers, reconciliations, and cash reporting.
• Calculate and review capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
• Prepare quarterly cash and accrual‑based journal entries.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Support year‑end audit and tax reporting processes.
• Prepare investor reporting schedules and supporting analyses.
• Maintain fund records and assist with finance‑related systems and reporting tools.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support ongoing fund operations and special projects.
