Instruction should include a thoughtful combination of direct teaching, hands‑on experiments, project‑based learning, scientific inquiry, and real‑world application. The educator should be comfortable differentiating instruction for two students at different developmental and academic levels while also creating opportunities for collaborative learning.
A bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field
Teaching, tutoring, homeschool, or youth-education experience
Strong knowledge of elementary and/or middle-school science
Experience designing hands‑on experiments and inquiry‑based lessons
The ability to plan structured, engaging four‑hour learning blocks with appropriate movement and transition breaks
Strong communication, organization, and classroom‑management skills
A warm, dependable, and professional approach
The ability to communicate regularly with the parents regarding instructional plans, student engagement, and progress
Compensation $50-$80 per hour
