Job summary

First Day Homecare is a leading homecare provider with pediatric Private Duty Nursing services across the US. Nurses provide skilled care under physician orders, working under the Nurse Practice Act and direction of medical practitioners.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor. Duties include nursing care per the client’s plan, documentation, collaboration with the care team, safety, and coordinating care across shifts. This role emphasizes pediatric services and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders and documents changes in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• Scope includes personal care, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric services (tracheostomy care, ventilator management, tube feedings).
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
