Visiting Angels seeks a Private Duty Caregiver to support seniors at home across East Texas, including Tyler, Whitehouse, Mineola, Lindale, and beyond. You’ll provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility assistance, and transportation support with compassion and discretion.

This role offers flexible shifts (part-time, 8-12-hr options, PRN) and benefits such as health and dental insurance, weekly pay, direct deposit, and continuing education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent time-management skills are essential.
• Reliable transportation to client visits is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are required.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks is expected.
• Must pass background check and drug screen; training in First Aid is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.

A Visiting Angels Private Duty Caregiver wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Private Duty Caregiver must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.
