Job summary

Nomura Capital Management in New York, NY is seeking an Associate for its Private Credit — Portfolio Management & Manager Research team. The role focuses on manager selection, portfolio construction and risk management within a fast-growing institutional investment platform.

Base pay is expected to range from $150,000 to $200,000/year. The successful candidate will review investment opportunities, perform due diligence, maintain databases, and produce detailed reports and memos.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in private credit manager selection and research.
• Strong quantitative, data management and research skills.
• Prior experience on an institutional platform with similar portfolios is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate prospective investment opportunities and conduct due diligence, including visits and calls with portfolio managers and research analysts.
• Maintain an internal database of prospective investment opportunities.
• Write manager meeting notes, due diligence reports and investment memos, including peer group analysis and manager review commentaries.
• Track and report manager performance, build relationships with underlying managers, and coordinate cash drawdown and funding calendars.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of the opportunity set and key risks across private market and alternative strategies.
• Develop a quantitative risk framework, build financial models, and perform technical analysis.
• Monitor fund developments via GP relationships and track fund/portfolio exposures and performance attribution.
• Oversee fund capital calls and distributions.
