Role Objective:

The Private Aviation Regional Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance, safety, and business development of private aviation services based at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL). This position provides leadership and oversight for daily operations of the 145, aircraft handling, ground support, customer service, and administrative activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, FAA regulations, airport requirements, and applicable safety standards.

The Regional Manager serves as the primary operational leader for the ORL location and works closely with flight departments, aircraft owners, charter operators, pilots, vendors, airport authorities, and corporate leadership to deliver a high-quality private aviation experience.

Essential Job Tasks:
Operations & Leadership
  • Oversee daily private aviation operations at ORL, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional service.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operations, customer service, ramp, and administrative personnel.
  • Establish staffing plans, operational procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Monitor operational efficiency and identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and resources are available to support aircraft maintenance and customer needs.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused operating environment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with FAA regulations, airport requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable company policies.
  • Operational reviews.
  • Ensure employees receive required training and maintain appropriate certifications.
Customer Experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with aircraft owners, pilots, flight departments, charter operators, and high-value customers.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customer concerns and operational issues.
  • Ensure consistently exceptional service throughout the customer journey.
  • Develop relationships with key aviation customers and local business partners.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Business Development
  • Identify opportunities to grow aircraft traffic, hangar utilization, ground handling, and other aviation services.
  • Develop relationships with corporate flight departments, charter companies, aircraft management companies, and aviation professionals.
  • Analyze local market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
Financial & Administrative Management
  • Assist with development and management of the location’s operating budget.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, labor costs, and operational performance.
  • Ensure accurate completion of operational records, reports, invoices, and documentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure contracted services meet company standards.

Success will be measured by the Regional Manager’s ability to maintain safe and efficient operations, develop a high-performing team, deliver exceptional service to private aviation customers, grow local business, control operating costs, and strengthen the company’s presence within the Orlando private aviation market.

Work Environment:

This is an on-site leadership role based at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) within a dynamic private aviation environment. The position requires regular presence in office, hangar, ramp, and airport operational areas, working around aircraft, ground support equipment, maintenance activity, moving vehicles, and varying weather and noise conditions.

The role involves frequent walking and standing, navigating operational environments, and the use of PPE when required. Flexibility is essential, as responsibilities may require availability outside of standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel to other company locations, customer sites, or industry events may also be required

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout office, hangar, ramp, and airport environments.
  • Ability to frequently move between work areas and navigate around aircraft, ground support equipment, and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs as necessary.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, temperatures, weather conditions, and exposure to typical aviation and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to safely access aircraft, hangars, ramps, and other operational areas while adhering to all required safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Travel:

This position may require up to 20% travel to support business and operational needs.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Must hold a valid A&P
  • Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in private aviation, FBO, aircraft ground handling, charter, corporate aviation, or aviation operations.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of private aviation operations and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of FAA and airport operational requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced aviation environment.
  • Strong business-development and relationship-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational/business management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours operational support when required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience managing private aviation facility.
  • Experience working at a busy general aviation or business aviation airport.
  • Experience working with aircraft fueling, ramp operations, hangar operations, and ground handling.
  • Existing relationships within the corporate/private aviation community.
  • Experience in operational performance.
  • Knowledge of the Central Florida aviation market.
  • Experience working with aircraft owners, charter operators, corporate flight departments, and aviation management companies.
