Job summary

Valley National Bank in Morristown, NJ seeks a Senior Privacy Officer to own and advance the enterprise privacy program across the bank and subsidiaries. You will lead governance, policy development, and risk mitigation for products, services, systems, and vendors.

Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Marketing, Procurement, and business leaders to operationalize privacy requirements and align with AI privacy governance.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the enterprise privacy program across the organization and subsidiaries.
• Monitor and interpret privacy laws (GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, state laws), assess impacts, and direct required changes.
• Lead privacy risk management, including PIAs, privacy-by-design reviews, and risk mitigation for products and vendors.
• Oversee data inventories, maps, and records of processing activities for personal information.
• Govern privacy operations: consumer rights requests, consent management, notices, and evidence retention.
• Oversee privacy reviews of third parties and data-sharing arrangements and ensure controls and remediation.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Marketing, Procurement, and business leaders to operationalize privacy requirements.
• Govern privacy aspects of AI platforms and use cases, including intake, risk tiering, assessments, and incident management.
• Identify and remediate privacy risks, compliance gaps, incidents, and control weaknesses; support audits and risk-acceptance.
• Define privacy metrics and executive reporting; support governance committees and enterprise privacy accountability.
