Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a Privacy Associate to join our team across multiple offices. The role focuses on advising on US federal and state privacy laws and implementing privacy programs within a collaborative firm culture.

Responsibilities include conducting privacy assessments, drafting policies and DPAs, and advising on high‑risk issues such as AI, ad‑tech, health data, biometrics, and minors’ data. Strong academics and prior peer firm experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an associate with preferably 4-8 years of experience to join our team that handles privacy and product counseling issues. Experience advising companies on US federal and state privacy laws is required. Strong candidates will also have experience with some or all of the following:

• Developing internal data protection programs
• Conducting privacy assessments and building out data maps
• Performing data protection impact assessments
• Drafting privacy policies
• Negotiating data processing agreements
• Advising on cutting‑edge or high‑risk privacy issues, such as AI, ad‑tech, health data, biometric data, and kids and teen data

Qualifications

Strong academic credentials are required. Prior peer law firm experience is a plus.

Compensation range: $260,000 to $420,000 annually. Compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
