Job summary

The Privacy Analyst at R1 RCM Inc. will help safeguard PHI by assessing and promoting compliance with federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA, across the company’s privacy program.

You'll investigate data incidents, track remediation, educate teams, and collaborate with privacy, HR and legal to strengthen our compliance posture while supporting ongoing risk assessments and reporting metrics for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2+ years of compliance experience, including data/privacy.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Strong writing and research skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, investigate, and act on data incidents related to privacy laws and company policies.

Here, collaboration fuels progress, adaptability sparks innovation and every voice can help shape what’s next for R1 and the future of healthcare.The Privacy Analyst will have experience with health information privacy (including, but not limited to, HIPAA), healthcare compliance, regulatory analysis and interpretation, and/or compliance investigations.The successful candidate will work with the other members of the R1 privacy team by assessing, monitoring, investigating, educating on, and promoting compliance with all federal and state data and information privacy requirements and addressing client and operational practices.Further, this candidate will support R1’s comprehensive strategy and growth plans in helping to ensure that the company exhibits and maintains a robust privacy compliance program in safeguarding Protected Health Information (“PHI”).Responsibilities:Receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on data incidents and issues concerning compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations and/or the Company’s privacy policies and procedures;Ensuring consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies in cooperation with others on the R1 privacy team, Human Resources and legal counsel, as applicable;Developing compliance-based metrics and reporting mechanisms to track privacy and data incident concerns as reported into or otherwise identified by compliance;Working with internal teams to remediate any activities for continuous privacy improvement, including managing projects for privacy and compliance enhancement;Supporting the Company’s proactive efforts to monitor, educate on, and promote compliance with all federal, state, and international privacy requirements;Assisting in annual compliance and risk assessments;Maintaining focus on operational excellence through risk mitigation and protection of data to improve quality and customer satisfaction;Assisting in development of and enhancements to the company’s Compliance & Ethics Program;Demonstrating ability and comfort working with and reporting to a broad spectrum of service lines and professionals, ranging from senior management to front line site and service leaders, including clients and vendors; andFlexibly assisting in other areas of concern to the compliance team to benefit the Company’s privacy posture.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree is RequiredAt least two (2) years compliance experience, including data and information privacy experience, preferably in a hospital or health care environment, or within the health care industry more broadlyExcellent project management skillsAbility to think strategically and analyze complex compliance issuesProven research, writing and communication skillsHigh degree of integrity, trust and ability to work independentlyProfessional, ethical and discrete in maintaining proprietary and confidential informationFor this US-based position, the base pay range is $53,606.00 - $79,233.51 per year .
