Qualifications

• Preauthorization of testing and procedures experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with physicians, staff and patients.
• Ability to perform general secretarial duties and scheduling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtains preauthorization from insurers for testing, surgeries, therapies, subspecialty referrals and any other prior authorization required by the patient’s insurer.
• Documents prior authorization and communicates information to the performing facility, physician, clinic staff and patient or family as necessary.
• Performs general secretarial duties including copying, fax handling, chart pulling, filing, reception duties and scheduling.
