Job summary

VillageMD is seeking an Authorization Specialist in Bend, Oregon to obtain prior authorizations for surgical procedures, testing, medications, and referrals as part of the Revenue Cycle team. You will work closely with physicians, office staff, and patients to ensure timely approvals and accurate documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years in a related role, and proficiency with Epic, MS Office, and Windows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with standard office technology and MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Identify appointments/procedures requiring authorization by monitoring schedules and reports.
• Determine referral/authorization needs using insurance guidelines and workflows.
• Verify insurance eligibility/benefits and update patient info as needed.
• Complete referrals and prior authorizations timely per guidelines.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and staff to resolve authorization issues.
