Job summary

Reliable Respiratory is seeking an Authorization Specialist to review rentals, prior authorizations, and patient eligibility to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.

You will work with providers, payors, and the clinical team to obtain documentation, stay current on insurance guidelines, and manage scheduling and billing of services. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant (authorization, claims, billing) experience or an Associate’s degree required.
• Demonstrates effective problem solving and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite, and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Review active rentals and future claims to ensure proper documentation and patient eligibility.
• Obtain necessary medical documentation and stay up to date on insurance guidelines for authorization and billing.
• Ensure dates of service for equipment rentals are billed correctly and on time.
• Process payments, perform basic billing functions and adjust entries as needed.
• Coordinate with providers, payors, and the clinical team to facilitate prior authorizations.
• Maintain accurate patient charts and update insurance policies as required.
• Assist with supply orders and return logistics to ensure proper billing.
