Printpack Rigid is seeking a Printing Technician for the Newport News, VA facility on the night shift. The role reports to the Print Manager and focuses on safe, efficient operation of the print press per specifications and quality standards.

Shift options include a 12-hour night shift (7 pm–7 am) with potential training on the day shift and a $2.50/hour shift differential for night work. Wage ranges from $22.53 to $33.79 per hour depending on experience.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience on Polytype or Van Dam cup printers a plus.

Printpack Rigid is seeking a candidate to fill a Printing Technician position in our Newport News, VA Facility on the night shift. This position will report to the Print Manager, and his/her key responsibility is to operate the Print press safely and efficiently, in accordance with specifications and quality standards.

Shift options available: 12-hour night shift, 7 pm- 7 am with the ability to train on day shift.

$2.50 an hour shift differential when working from 7pm-7am.

Wage: $22.53 - $33.79 per hour depending on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain machines in good working order by cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting.
• Examine printed copy for correct ink density, position on cups and registration.
• Set appropriate speeds, flows, colors, temperatures, and positions for printing.
• Examine and produce specific job orders.
• Verify ink specifications, ink presses, change ink and adjust ink flow.
• Meet production schedules and throughput yield targets.
• Collaborate with other technicians to diagnose equipment breakdowns and address quality issues.
• Post and adhere to lockout/tagout, hazardous material handling and hearing and eye standards.
• Keep records of materials used and time needed for projects.
• Maintain data on printing outputs produced, supplies consumed, and equipment maintenance and repairs performed.
• Follow cup print quality standards for the printer start-up and acceptance testing.
• Perform quality checks.
• Foster an environment focused on safety, including but not not limited to: performing machine safety audits, behavior-based safety observations, identifying near misses and opportunities for improvement, driving associate engagement on shift, and performing lockout/tagout procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalentpreferred
• Stable work history
• Previousprinting experiencea plus(Dry offset, Flexographic or Rotogravure)
• Previousexperience on Polytype or Van Dam cup printersa plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demands:The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:

• Capability to lift and move up to 65 pounds

• Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squat

• Proficiencyin grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills

• Ability to climb ladders safely

• Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and motorized pallet jack certification
