Job Description

Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday - Friday with OT as required

Pay: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr

  1. The position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining a variety of press equipment.
  2. Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking for correct image positioning, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register.
  3. Make necessary color corrections and press adjustments prior to production to meet quality specifications.
  4. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as needed.
  5. Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements, with the skills to perform related assignments.
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
  • Skill to make precise adjustments of controls and settings, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Knowledge of minor repairs and operational maintenance procedures.
  • Understanding of the appropriate packing pressure needed for proper printing pressure based on the job.
  • Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates correctly.

Additional Information

The actual pay offered may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.
