Job summary

Strativ Group in San Francisco seeks a hands-on PCB Design Engineer to lead schematic capture, PCB layout and routing of complex multi-layer boards using Altium Designer.

You will own designs through the full development lifecycle, collaborating with hardware, FPGA, firmware and mechanical teams, and supporting board bring-up and revisions in demanding aerospace/defense applications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PCB design from schematic through production.
• Experience with Altium Designer and multi-layer boards.
• Background in space/aerospace or defense electronics is highly desirable.

Job description

An exciting scale-up company operating at the forefront of advanced space and satellite technology is looking for a PCB Design Engineer to join its team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced PCB designer who enjoys working on complex, high-performance electronics and taking boards from initial schematic through to production.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the schematic capture, PCB layout and routing of complex multi-layer boards using Altium Designer, working closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware and mechanical engineering teams.

The role will involve taking ownership of PCB designs through the full development lifecycle, including design, layout, manufacturing release and supporting board bring-up and revisions.

What we're looking for:

• Strong, hands-on experience with Altium Designer
• Experience with digital and/or mixed-signal board design
• Good understanding of high-speed routing, signal integrity and power distribution
• Experience designing boards for manufacturing and production
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design iterations

Background

A space, satellite or aerospace background would be highly desirable, particularly experience working on hardware intended for demanding environments. However, candidates from other advanced engineering industries will also be considered - particularly those with experience designing complex PCBs for defense, aerospace, high-performance electronics, robotics, automotive or other technically demanding applications.
