  • Preflight and quality check artwork files prior to print release.
  • Coordinate production runs on graphic production equipment and maintain quantity counts.
  • Perform basic maintenance per schedule and log maintenance activity.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of finished graphics.

Job description

Position Summary The Digital Print Production Operator will communicate regularly with the Graphic Production Manager regarding job status and quality concerns. The Digital Print Production Operator will be responsible for the day to day equipment operation, printing, file ripping, and production of banners, signs, murals, vehicle graphics, and POP display graphics. This position will preflight and quality check artwork files prior to releasing the jobs for print production. Other duties include: organize production runs on graphic production equipment, keeps updated quantity counts and quality audits on jobs to ensure accuracy. The Digital Print Production Operator will conduct operator level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment per maintenance schedule, track and records information in maintenance logs and coordinates service calls. The ideal candidate will have 3 year’s experience in digital print production, various wide format finishing equipment knowledge is required (Zund file set up, and cutting), knowledge of software such as Onyx or Caldera RIP is required. In addition, this person will have a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi task with changing priorities and excellent project and time management skills.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for day-to-day equipment operation, printing, file ripping, and production of banners, signs, murals, vehicle wraps, POP display graphics, etc.
  • Communicates with Graphic Production Manager on quality issues.
  • Organizes production runs on graphic production equipment; keeps updated quantity counts on jobs to ensure jobs are produced correctly
  • Performs print quality control, color profiling, & troubleshooting machinery issues on equipment as needed
  • Preflight and quality check artwork files prior to releasing jobs for print production
  • Conducts operator level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to maintenance schedule, records information in maintenance logs and coordinates service calls.
  • Solid working knowledge of large format printing & finishing processes, industry terminology and materials
  • Various wide format finishing equipment (i.e. Zund file setup and cutting) knowledge is required
  • Background in Onyx and /or Caldera RIP software required
Education Level

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred

Experience

3 plus years of experience in running production for color & black/white print products

Computer Skills

Onyx Software Caldera RIP Software

Additional Requirements
  • Solid working knowledge of large format printing & finishing processes, industry terminology and materials
  • Various wide format finishing equipment (i.e. Zund file setup and cutting) knowledge is required
