Job summary

Ascension Publishing Group seeks a print production lead for Alto, overseeing all manufacturing aspects of the physical book process and managing printer relationships. You will collaborate with editorial and production teams to determine printing specs and resolve production issues.

You will own print specs and schedules, review layouts, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality. Occasional travel to Exton, PA is required.

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail in print production.
Strong visual design and aesthetic judgment.
Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Knowledge of graphic design for book layout and printing tech.
Experience with book manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Own print specifications, production schedules, and QA for Alto.
Coordinate print schedules with the project team.
Review layouts and print-ready PDFs for size, format, and color accuracy.
Manage relationships with vendors/printers worldwide.
Collaborate with Alto resellers and distributors to meet needs.
Ensure on-time delivery and accurate quantities.
Travel to Exton, PA and to print vendors as needed.
Maintain Alto customer list and coordinate printer submissions.

SUMMARY

Alto is a Catholic monthly periodical that combines the daily mass readings, liturgy of the hours, and reflections from Catholic creators. The periodical just launched this year and has been growing quickly!

This print production role oversees all manufacturing aspects of the physical book process and manages printer relationships; collaborates with editorial and production teams to determine printing specifications and resolve production issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Own print specifications, production schedules, and quality assurance for Alto
Coordinate with the project team on print schedules and requirements
Work with designers to thoroughly review layouts, artwork, and print-ready PDFs before they go to the printer — checking size, formatting, and color accuracy
Manage and maintain relationships with a diverse set of vendors/printers around the world
Work directly with Alto resellers, distributors, and bulk sale customers to ensure needs are met
Collaborate with external vendors and internal staff to ensure accurate purchase quantities and on-time customer delivery each month
Own the customer list for Alto and coordinate with internal staff to submit to printer each month
Occasional travel to Exton, PA and print vendors required
