POSITION OVERVIEW

The Print & Packaging Manager leads all packaging and print initiatives, ensuring every label, box, insert, and visual reflects our brand, meets regulatory standards, and is delivered with precision. This role bridges creative design, operations, and manufacturing, requiring sharp attention to detail, process ownership, and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and the Plant Manager, this position works hand-in-hand with product development, marketing, and compliance. Success is measured by error‑free, on‑time launches and smarter processes that drive efficiency and scalability. The role also supports visual store merchandising – designing and managing signage, imagery, and printed collateral to create a consistent, on‑brand customer experience across retail locations.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate thrives where creativity meets operations. They bring packaging and print expertise, but more importantly, a passion for how a brand shows up to customers.

  • CPG background — ideally in a highly regulated industry like food, beverage, or alcohol.

  • Fast‑paced & detail‑driven — can juggle multiple projects, tight timelines, and complex requirements with accuracy.

  • Collaborative — works seamlessly with marketing, operations, product development, and compliance.

  • Brand‑focused — cares deeply about the customer experience and ensures every label, package, and in‑store visual reflects the brand.

  • Balanced — understands this isn’t strictly a marketing role, but brings the same passion for brand expression through packaging and merchandising.

  • This is a full‑time, in‑office role based at our headquarters in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

  • Regular collaboration with the factory, operations, and marketing and creative teams is required, making on‑site presence essential.

  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where packaging and print needs are closely tied to production schedules.

  • Develop and maintain master packaging guidelines to ensure consistency across product categories.

  • Collaborate with creative team on artwork, ensuring packaging meets brand identity standards (color, typography, tone).

  • Manage label creation, updates, and compliance reviews that are unable to be supplied by a vendor and require in‑house support (ingredients, certifications, legal requirements).

  • Oversee proofreading and approval processes to eliminate errors before print.

  • Partner with factory team to ensure packaging specs are correct, feasible, and optimized for production efficiency.

Process & Project Management

  • Establish and document clear workflows for packaging/label approvals, ownership, and sign‑offs.

  • Implement version control and track changes across packaging assets.

  • Maintain our project management tool for all packaging projects, ensuring deadlines are met and cross‑functional teams are aligned.

  • Develop a system for preventing and quickly resolving packaging errors.

  • Assist in inventory management to ensure that all pieces are on order when they need to be as well as manage lead times.

  • Liaise with print vendors, packaging suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure quality, timelines, and cost control.

  • Negotiate with vendors to optimize pricing, minimum order quantities, and lead times.

  • Oversee print proof reviews, test runs, and production checks.

  • Design and produce in‑store visual materials such as signage, posters, imagery, and other collateral to support merchandising and customer experience.

  • Ensure all in‑store print collateral reflects brand identity and campaign consistency.

  • Collaborate with marketing and retail teams to deliver visual assets for new store openings, events, and seasonal updates.

  • Manage print vendors and timelines for store collateral to guarantee accuracy, quality, and on‑time delivery.

  • Maintain an organized library of store visuals for easy updates and replacements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of print processes, materials, and production methods.

  • Some experience with any regulatory packaging requirements preferred but not required (FDA, CPSC, FTC, etc. depending on category).

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and project management tools (Airtable, Asana, Trello, etc.).

  • Exceptional attention to detail and process‑oriented mindset.

  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and resolve packaging/labeling errors quickly.
