Job summary

One-Cycle Control, Inc. designs and manufactures high-performance power converters and is expanding its manufacturing team.

We seek motivated PCBA Technicians to join our production floor, performing soldering, staking, conformal coating, testing, and inspection tasks to ensure IPC-compliant assemblies. Ideal candidates will have an electronics background, ability to read schematics, and experience with test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in EE/ME or high school diploma with 2–5 years electronics experience.
  • Experience in electronic soldering, PCBA assembly, testing, or related technical field.
  • Ability to read production drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Perform high-quality hand soldering, desoldering, wire preparation, and wire tinning for PCBAs.
  • Inspect assemblies for proper staking, conformal coating, and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Operate and monitor conformal coating equipment and verify coating quality.
  • Identify and report defects or test failures to supervision.
  • Follow ESD control procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Work with basic electrical test equipment to verify voltage, continuity, and resistance.

Job description

One-Cycle Control, Inc. (OCC) designs and manufactures high-performance, high-density, and high-reliability power converters for industrial, utility, defense, renewable energy, and energy storage applications. As our production continues to expand, we are seeking motivated PCBA Technicians to join our manufacturing team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Document Interpretation
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Understand staking, conformal coating, and assembly procedures.
  • Staking
  • Perform high-quality hand staking using semi-automated fluid dispensing equipment.
  • Ensure proper adhesive application in accordance with manufacturing standards.
  • Conformal Coating
  • Set up, operate, and monitor automated conformal coating equipment.
  • Verify process parameters and maintain coating quality throughout production.
  • Soldering & Rework
  • Perform high-quality through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) hand soldering, desoldering, wire preparation, and wire tinning.
  • Rework printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) as required while maintaining IPC workmanship standards.
  • Quality Inspection
  • Staking Inspection: Visually inspect completed assemblies to verify proper staking coverage, correct adhesive volume, absence of voids, and ensure no active component leads or solder pads are unintentionally covered.
  • Conformal Coating Inspection: Inspect coated assemblies using long-wave ultraviolet (UV) light to verify complete and uniform coating coverage and identify defects such as bubbles, runs, fish-eyes, pinholes, or voids.
  • General Inspection: Verify workmanship and product quality in accordance with company quality procedures and IPC standards.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting
  • Use basic electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, to verify voltage, continuity, resistance, and basic circuit functionality.
  • Identify and report assembly defects or test failures to engineering or production supervisors.
  • ESD & Safety Compliance
  • Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company safety policies.
  • Industry Standards
  • Perform work in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in EE/ME. High school diploma with 2-5 years of experience
  • Experience in electronic soldering, PCBA assembly, testing, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment and common mechanical hand tools.
  • Familiarity with SMT and through-hole assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 standards is preferred; IPC certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Good organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status is required.
