Job summary

NCR Voyix Corporation seeks a Principal WAN Architect to modernize our WAN infrastructure and connect on-premise and cloud environments. You will design and implement scalable WAN solutions and lead security initiatives to protect customer data across multi-site deployments.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance networking and secure connectivity, aligning with business goals and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in network architecture and WAN design.
• Expertise in network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Experience integrating WAN with Azure and Google Cloud.
• Certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, or Azure Architect are a plus.

As the Principal WAN Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our network infrastructure, driving innovation, and enhancing customer experience. Leveraging your expertise in network architecture, security protocols, and cloud technologies, you will design and implement cutting-edge solutions to optimize connectivity, enhance performance, and ensure the security of our network ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to modernize our WAN infrastructure and enhance customer connectivity, aligning network architecture with business objectives and industry best practices.

Network Design and Implementation: Design, architect, and implement scalable and resilient WAN solutions that support our evolving business needs, leveraging the latest technologies and protocols.

Cloud Integration: Lead efforts to integrate WAN connectivity with cloud platforms, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for cloud-based applications and services.

Security Compliance: Implement robust security measures and protocols to safeguard our network infrastructure and customer data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize WAN performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance challenges to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, evaluating and selecting vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in network architecture and design, with a focus on WAN technologies.
• Proven track record of successfully architecting and implementing WAN solutions in complex, multi-site environments.
• Expertise in network security principles, protocols, and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and architectures, with experience integrating WAN connectivity with leading cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud.
• Industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, or Azure Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
