Cengage Group is seeking a Principal UX Designer to shape and elevate our web and digital experience with strong product thinking and systems thinking. You will define web experience strategy across complex systems and translate business needs into intuitive, scalable solutions.

You will partner with Marketing, Product and Engineering to influence priorities and ensure what we build delivers meaningful value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in UX, Web Strategy, and product design demonstrating impact.
• Strong ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive roadmaps.
• Proven portfolio with end-to-end web design and measurable business impact.
• Experience communicating data, analytics, and user research to inform decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on front-end development.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Web experience strategy across key product areas.
• Translate complex business and product requirements into scalable user experiences.
• Use data, research, and experimentation to inform decisions and improve experiences.
• Apply AI and innovative tools to accelerate design and build processes.
• Lead end-to-end design work from discovery through delivery.
• Maintain quality and cohesion across the overall experience.
• Influence cross-functional partners and leadership with clear rationale and tradeoffs.
• Build and scale experimentation programs with hypothesis and metrics.
