Amazon's Frontier AI organization is building the next generation of foundation models that power experiences across the company. We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to own the end-to-end delivery and roadmap for our AI asset catalog platform, a unified system that enables scientists to discover, access, and govern the training assets used to develop AI models at Amazon.
You will be the single-threaded program leader for a platform that spans search and discovery, legal workflows and access management, petabyte-scale data storage, and data ingestion, compliance, and preparation. You will manage programs across multiple engineering teams, coordinate dependencies with partner organizations, and own the program narrative to senior leadership.
This is not a role where the strategy has been handed to you. You will operate in ambiguity, defining program structure where none exists, making trade-off decisions that carry legal and financial consequence, and influencing engineering teams across organizational boundaries without direct authority. You will build the mechanisms that drive execution while ensuring that architectural and program decisions compound into the right outcomes as the platform scales.
Success in this role requires combining deep technical understanding of data platforms and ML infrastructure with the organizational influence to align multiple organizations toward shared outcomes, and the program rigor to deliver complex programs on time and at scale.
You will own end-to-end program delivery across multiple engineering teams, defining strategy, sequencing, and trade-offs as the platform evolves. You will build durable mechanisms (dependency tracking, risk frameworks, escalation paths) that scale execution with and without your direct involvement. You will coordinate efforts across internal teams and partner organizations, negotiating priorities with teams under separate leadership chains and converting integrations into sustained platform relationships. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. Your technical skills enable you to design and implement process and tooling solutions that bridge data, resources, technology, and operations to achieve the right results. You will serve as the key program contact between engineering and legal for data usage policies and compliance, maintain a program level risk register, and drive cost optimization across storage lifecycle management. You will own the program narrative in senior leadership reviews, translating platform goals into concrete outcomes, holding teams accountable, and surfacing risks early. You will also own partner onboarding end to end, including integration testing, compliance readiness, and go/no-go criteria, ensuring the platform scales to new organizations without redesign.
