Leonardo UK Basildon is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to design, develop, and support electro-optical test equipment for our Precision Guidance products. You will work across optical, thermal, electronic, and software domains, leading test strategy, system definition, and verification from bid to production.

The role is hands-on, with production support and field fault investigations. We value practical laboratory experience, strong problem solving, and collaborative teamwork across

Qualifications

• HND or above in system or electrical engineering.
• Experience in electrical test, electro-optics desirable.
• Understanding of optoelectronic devices and systems such as lasers and photodetectors is highly valued.
• Hands-on lab test, diagnostic and measurement experience with electro-optical instrumentation.

Responsabilités

• Interpret product test requirements to define a test strategy and plan.
• Define a test system and generate work packages across functions.
• Build, commission and verify new test solutions and perform development testing.
• Support test system issues in production and investigate detector faults.
