Principal Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Take ownership for and develop diagnostic and test capabilities for production, field, and system power-up self-test.
2. Work with and train CM personnel to perform diagnostic tests, generate summary test reports, and archive results in a production test database.
3. Collaborate with CM and engineering teams to resolve production and field failures and implement necessary changes.
4. Design, build, test, document, and release electromechanical test fixtures in coordination with the design team.
5. Program test software in Python, write scripts and applications on Linux platforms.
6. Write formal test protocols and conduct tests of electronic equipment according to these protocols.
7. Analyze and present numerical results using software tools such as Matlab to other engineers.
8. Troubleshoot issues with electromechanical apparatus by reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of commercial experience as a test engineer of medical device capital equipment, with at least 3 years as a technical lead.
• Experience with standard electronics lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
• Proficiency in using Matlab independently for data analysis and presentation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in diverse teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IEC 60601-1 EMC & Safety testing.
• Experience with hand tools, basic power tools, and 3D printing.
