As a Micron Core Data Center Business Unit (CDBU) Technical Product Manager (TPM) within the data center SSD Product Management team, you will be responsible for defining and driving the technical development of next‑gen Micron Data Center SSDs.

This highly influential role requires outstanding skills in analytics, pattern recognition, navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, product prioritization, trade‑offs and decision making, humility, the ability to transition seamlessly between technical depth and vision‑setting simplicity, and a deep passion for storage and how SSDs are crafting and fueling the future.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the technical development of Micron data center SSDs as the voice of the customer on product development teams
  • Own, maintain, lead, and evangelize elite customer‑driven requirements documents, including launch, technical marketing collateral, and datasheets
  • Compare your product requirements to customer requirements: do spec gap & competitive analysis
  • Develop technical product differentiation strategies
  • Work daily with engineering as the voice of the customer to advise development decisions and trade‑offs
  • Understand current & future SSD features & trends in the data center storage market and evaluate which features make sense for Micron to pursue based on business viability, technology feasibility, and end customer workload and application use cases
  • Build and champion deep technical customer relationships to inform Micron understanding of key SSD technologies, innovation trends, and path‑finding opportunities
  • Start with the customer and work backwards by leading concept reviews and build reviews to ensure that your product plans align with customer and market needs
  • Drive and own technical stage gate reviews with Micron executives to turn your ideas into win‑win products
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and define Micron data center SSD requirements for long term market leadership
  • Align with Micron engineering to ensure data center SSD needs are represented in the Micron Product Life‑Cycle Management (PLM) planning process
  • Manage all technical product details and data for your products in the databases and requirements management tools that Micron uses
  • Influence the market and represent Micron as a data center SSD leader in Quarterly Technical Reviews at CTO level with OEMs, hyperscalers, and major industry partners
  • Work with technical customer teams to help resolve customers’ technical issues
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business
  • 10 years of experience in the areas of product management, business strategy or intelligence, specifically within the semiconductor industry
  • Background defining complex data center storage strategies, along with extensive customer‑facing experience.
  • Technical expertise in multiple SSD planning domains (NVMe interface, NAND, ASIC, DRAM, firmware, software, hardware, validation, standards, etc.) and be capable of providing deep insight into new technologies and architectures while also assessing the market potential and timing of emerging capabilities.

  • MBA or master’s degree
Compensation

US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full‑time position is: $141,000.00 - $319,000.00 a year.

Additional Compensation May Include Benefits, Bonuses And Equity.
